Our mission
Sulcata Rescue Ranch serves San Diego and the surrounding Southern California areas, we where established in 2022 and have the distinction of being an effective 501c3 non-profit tortoise rescue.
After 30+ years of personally rescuing, fostering and adopting out turtles and tortoises it became apparent that more effort was needed specifically for rescuing sulcatas. Many of these beautiful beasts are in dire need of getting out of the circumstances they’ve been living in, have been abandoned, and/or for those whose owners that are experiencing lifestyle changes.
Located on 1.5 acres in beautiful Ramona, several large outdoor enclosures with housing have been erected and can accommodate the sulcata’s voracious appetite and allow them to wander around in our exceptional Southern California climate.
If you’re looking for a safe haven for your tortoise(s), without being questioned or judged, please consider us. No animal is ever sold and potential adopters are thoroughly screened.
Pick up and delivery service is available at $2.00 a mile round trip in addition to the surrender fee.

Would you like to work with Sulcata Tortoises. We are always looking for some lovely people who would like to help feed, water, clean and have social enrichment time with tortoises. We also can help you recieve your community service hours at school.
